The plates or dove tails (dove tail) are those metallic pieces which allow the fitting of the optical tube of a telescope and the subsequent fixation to a mount. They are trapezoidal in shape and act as a guide.
It is an essential part in the composition of a telescope, the firm holding of the optical tube will depend on it, and thus the reliability and security of observation.
There are several types of Milano tail models, among which the Vixen type and the Losmandy type stand out.
