Celestron has substantially improved the CGX series of telescopes, with the new GO-TO or
CGX-L computerized version, a new series with improvements basically focused on the new CGX-L mount, which applies the latest technology in Celestron mounts, with greater load capacity and precision. The
11 "optical tube with high definition
EDGE HD treatment has been integrated into this model, making it an ideal equipment for the
highest level astrophotography .
The
11 "or 280mm optical tube incorporates the
StarBright XLT optical treatment that Celestron applies to its most advanced range telescopes. This special treatment is combined with the
coma-free aplanatic edge HD treatment. This optical tube gives you
800 times more light that vision with the naked eye, thus becomes an indispensable tool for
observation and astrophotography .
The entire visual and photographic field is
free of chromatic
aberrations up to the very edge of the optics.
EdgeHD optics produce a focal plane three times flatter than a standard
Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and dramatically flatter than competitive non-coma designs. This ensures that you can
see and photograph the stars within the field of CCD sensors. With Celestron's StarBright XLT optical coatings on all surfaces, EdgeHD optics provide you with
maximum light performance across the widest photographic and visual spectrum.
The
f / 10 focal ratio gives you the necessary scale for deep sky photography and observation, if you want to further expand your field of view you can optionally add the
focal reducer designed for Edge HD optics. In taking long-exposure images, the telescope incorporates an automatic
adjustment and tensioning system for the mirrors , thus keeping the image centered on the eyepiece.
It includes a high - end
eyepiece Celestron Luminos 23mm 2 lace. "Likewise also incorporates
9x50 finder. The
German Celestron
CGX-L Equatorial Mount represents an evolution and advancement in equatorial mount for
observation and astrophotography . The new, more compact design is combined with more
precise and stable technical adjustments, which improve
tracking and hence all the derived observation.
The main design objectives include a
144mm diameter
ring gear that provides
more precise guidance even under heavier loads. A
270mm dovetail to support larger optical tubes. Wi-Fi support with accessories that support features such as Polar alignment and automatic detection of the
Sky portal wifi module
, better overall cable management. In addition,
mechanical and ergonomic improvements have also been made to make the assembly more robust, easier to use and easier to transport.
Among these improvements, the new
belt drive system stands out, which facilitates the operation of the engine
with heavy loads, in this case even more than the CGX model, since it supports up to
34kg of weight . Improving the engine translates into a
smoother turn , especially under heavy loads. The
internal gear system, with brass wheels and steel worm bolts, are responsible for reducing friction, and therefore providing
more even tracking .
The
internal wiring is an important advance since it minimizes its deterioration and also protects it from the elements, the tension of the wiring is avoided with the movement of the mount and the telescope, thus
there is no danger of breakage . Internal sensors at the end of the two axes are another interesting
safety mechanism, by detecting that the end is reached, preventing the turn from reaching the stop and causing damage to the mount or optical tube. At the same time, these sensors allow you to always restart the movement of the frame from the same starting point, the index position.
In terms of
design and ergonomics , the EQ Mount head is adjustable to optimize the center of gravity with respect to the tripod, thus increasing the latitude range from 3º to 65º. In the assembly of the optical tube, it incorporates a
"dual-fit" system between dovetail for
CG-5, Vixen and CGE . The adjustment of the polar alignment system also presents a notable improvement, with the option of adding the innovative StarSense system. For transport and handling, the two handles to hold the frame are essential.
Control
stick with
USB connection , Two AUX accessory ports to support wireless alignment accessories: / Wi-Fi and operation with accessories such as
StarSense, AutoAlign and SkyPortal WiFi module (sold separately) USB 2.0 port, used for connect directly to the PC with the included software.
The tripod is
stainless steel and powerful enough
to withstand 34kg of load. Includes accessory for the eyepiece support or tray, three 1.25 "and two 2". It contributes 20 more on the route outside the meridian, on both sides.
