Didactic and functional cardboard planetarium where you can discover the rotation of the moon, the earth and the movements of the planets on the sun.
Astronomical toy focused on children over 16, whose purpose is to know from a practical point of view, the Copernicus planetarium with its theory on the position of the sun with respect to the Earth. We will explain it below.
It is an instrument made of cardboard that, through a crank, rotates the planets , the Earth and the Moon around the Sun.
Each time we turn the crank it takes a week of rotation, and we can observe the relative movements of the celestial bodies very rigorously.
And you may wonder, why is the Sun the one located in the center and not the Earth?
Well, according to Copernicus, he said that the Earth rotated on itself daily and that as it rotated, it leaned on its axis, like a top. However, he claimed that annually the Earth went around the Sun.
It is important to note that the Sun , whose measurement is 4.5 cm, is illuminated with LEDs , and makes the visualization of the passing of the seasons, the phases of Venus and the Moon, among other factors, much easier to understand for student learning .
The kit includes shafts, magnets, pulley belts, planets, bearings, and LED light.
The assembly requires about 20h of construction time, but once assembled, the result is fascinating.
