In most telescopes dedicated to astronomical observation, the final image is inverted. If you want to rotate the image to obtain a more realistic observation, you must purchase an inverter or inverter prism.
An image inverter is nothing more than a right angle tube with an inverter prism inside. As it passes through the tube, the prism inverts the image and displays it correctly to the observer.
This inverter is attached to the telescope through one of the inputs and to the eyepiece through the other. The inversion of image is obligatory for terrestrial observation and recommended in astronomical observation if for example you want to recognize in detail the surface of the moon.
Altazimuth mount telescopes for terrestrial observation, usually already incorporate the inverter, while for those dedicated especially to astronomy, those with equatorial mount and fork mount, you will need them as an accessory.
