Details

More information
The German equatorial mount is made of aluminum and stainless steel , following a procedure similar to that of the aircraft fuselage. Sturdy , capable of supporting tubes up to 41kg, features ball bearings on each axis, a 44.45mm stainless steel AR shaft, 147, 32mm diameter crowns, fine adjustment manual controls on both axes and illuminated reticle of port of departure.
The body of the frame weighs 24.75Kg and the tripod has an adjustable height between 74 and 114cm with very robust legs of 7.6cm in diameter and weighs 16.2Kg. Includes two 11.7Kg stainless steel counterweights each.

It incorporates the StarLock permanent automatic guidance system, a revolutionary guidance technology for long exposures. This guidance system finds the star through a double chamber and guides it with an accuracy of 1 arc second (up to 11th magnitude stars) and also incorporates the LightSwitch automatic alignment system. With MEADE's exclusive LIGHTSWITCH technology at its core, the StarLock uses 80mm af / 5 optics and a dual system of sensors that will provide a computer-aided aid in Pole Star Alignment using the drift method . StarLock allows you to acquire images on your guidance sensor and thus proceed with automatic guidance during long exposures. StarLock itself will program for the correction of the permanent periodic error. This guidance system and the CrayFord dual-speed (7: 1) internal focusing system are essential for the astrophotographic use of the telescope.

The Meade LX850 equatorial mount uses DC Servo motors on each axis with a maximum GOTO speed of 3 degrees per second, allowing tracking at 180 ° (opposite position) to that of the starting point in just one minute. Fine centering and guide speeds for astrophotography can be adjusted from 0.01x to 1x Sidereal speed with faster GOTO speeds of 2x, 8x, 16x or 1/4, 1/2, 1 or 3 degrees per second.
