The
Minox HG series have been designed as the excellence of Minox quality as its nomenclature, High Grade (HG), indicates.
At the optical level, the
Minox HG prismatic uses
aspherical lenses to obtain a clear, bright and distortion-free image in the entire field of vision. Optical
lenses are
manufactured for Minox
by the prestigious
SCHOTT AG, also known as the component supplier for Zeiss. Thus, its
special MinoBright prisms with silver-based treatment and phase correction
transmit 99.8% light and prevent the appearance of chromatic aberration, loss of contrast and resolution. These characteristics as well as the
multi-treated optics with 21 layers M * Coating , which
transmits an impressive
92% of light , gives us an impressive definition of colors, contrast and sharpness, at the height of the top binoculars.
The
design of the binocular has been designed
by Volkswagen to achieve perfect grip, touch and balance. The
case has been made with a
magnesium alloy and the entire Minox HG range is considered one of the most compact and light on the market. Its
focus wheel uses the
Quick-Close-Focus system similar to the Zeiss Victory FL ground telescope which with a quick turn of a single turn we get focus from 2.5 meters to infinity and thanks to its ingenious focus system changes the focal plane when we adjust the wheel more slowly to achieve precise focus. The focus wheel also has a curious
scale of 2.5 to 50 meters that helps us predict the distance of the object we are observing. Externally they are covered with rubber, contributing to a better grip and robustness. They are
waterproof to a depth of
5 meters and are
filled with argon to prevent condensation of the lenses when there are sudden changes in temperature.
The
Minox HG 8x56 prismatic stands out for its very large
7.0mm exit pupil that provides a fantastic light input that together with its optical treatment will achieve bright and contrasting images even in unfavorable light conditions. The 8x 56mm diameter configuration is specific for those who need maximum light output when the human eye is unable to see, i.e., in observations without sunlight or moonlight. Its 1080g weight with 8x does not make it essential for use with binoculars unless prolonged observations are required.
