The stage is that part of the light microscope where we put the sample to be observed
The stage of an optical microscope is a very important part of the mechanical system since it is there where the sample is placed in order to be observed.
There are several types of plate, but we essentially differentiate between mechanical and non-mechanical, the first ones incorporating an XY movement and a measurement scale. The plate usually incorporates tweezers to hold the samples.
There are special plates, which serve to incorporate special lighting systems such as polarized light, others that incorporate rotation, and finally some that are special for certain types of samples.
