Baader offers a series of
astronomical filters to counteract
light pollution in
deep sky observation, especially with telescopes with objectives greater than
100mm aperture.
Light pollution is a very important "handicap" in astronomical observation in
cities , especially in highly populated
cities .
Having
too much light distorts the observation, makes it less sharp, and
loses contrast . Therefore power of appreciation of details, especially in deep sky observation, constellations, nebulae and galaxies. It also ensures a greater contrast in planetary observation.
The
Ultra Hight Contrast or UHC Filters magnify the contrast, just in these conditions where the vision is much dimmer or more diffuse. The filters are optically treated with
ultra-hard dielectric coatings , which make the filter more resistant and favor its cleanliness.
