ZWO ASI 385 Color USB 3.0 CCD Camera

ZWO has incorporated in its series of initiation CCD cameras, the high-sensitivity Sony IMX385LQR CMOS sensor , initially designed for industrial applications. It provides twice the sensitivity of its predecessor, especially in very low light conditions, such as we will find in astronomical observation. It also incorporates the HDR processing system.

With 2.1pmx (1936x1096) we achieve a speed of 120 frames / second at a depth of 10 bits. A lower resolution and greater depth reach 259 frames / second. Pixel size is 3.75 microns . In this camera the noise is very low, 0.7e, an important factor when taking long exposure photos.
It incorporates a standard ST4 port and USB 2.0 with 2m cable. It also incorporates a T2 M42 inlet thread, then a converter goes from this thread to 31.7mm for the filter cap.
The CD with the corresponding software and drives for the use of the Camera are also provided. The ASCOM driver for this camera is available. However, it requires the prior installation of the ZWO SDK (Software Development Kit), downloadable free of charge on its website.
For the acquisition of planetary videos, it includes free software FireCapture, by Torsten Edelmann, which natively supports ZWO cameras.
