Etymologically astronomy means the study of the stars and is that science that deals with the study of the universe and the entities that compose it, such as stars of any kind, planets and their satellites, comets and meteorites, interstellar matter, etc. All this together forms the galaxies (which, when grouped together, form galaxy clusters and super-clusters) and astronomy is therefore concerned with the study of their positions, movements and everything related to them.
Once we know what astronomy is, we have to equip ourselves with the necessary instruments to make the observations, here the main product is the astronomical telescope, which are divided between those of manual operation and those of the GO-TO or automatic system. With a telescope we will get to see planets and celestial objects unattainable to the naked eye and even more distant details such as rings of Saturn or nebulae.
